Southern Tier Brewing Company of Lakewood, New York, has been in operation since 2004; already the accolades for this very young Craft Beer maker are piling up. Beer Advocate named them in the "top 50 American Breweries". 35th over all, of nearly 1400 breweries and brew pubs in the US, that is top 2.5%. Tap New York Beer Festival recently awarded Southern Tier's Unearthly Imperial India Pale Ale Best Beer in New York State. Unearthly, was also named the 81st Best Beer in the World by Beer Advocate in their May 2007 issue. Already known for their Imperial, Blackwater and Cuvee series Southern Tier Brewing Company is poised to be on top of the World's Craft Beer Scene for many years to come.
